Back from Taiwan trip! (Part 2)
3rd day 20th sept
Started our journey to Miaoli（苗栗）fruits orchid. sad to say, there isn't much fruits. suppose to go strawberry farm but there isn't any strawberry, so we went to a tomato farm instead. den we took a long journey to Chuifen（九份). It's a place located up in hill, the bus going up and up, turning right and left, luckily no one vomited. haha. It can be quite scary becos the lane is narrow and it's up hill. imagine~~~ but the scenery is great and beautiful. the sky is extremely blue, there's a division between the sea and the pacific ocean whivh can be seen clearly.
Den we went shopping. bought muchi(s) and some jellies. we had teochew fish balls for lunch. three differ flavors of fish balls. Den another long journey heading to Yilan (宜兰). dis journey is super long. 3hours. but along our way, we get to see the scenery along the East Coast, the division of the sea and ocean, and volcano! woo! i was shocked and stunned. two huge volcanoes just beside us when we passed by. den all of us slept due to the long journey. haha. finally we reached our destination, Shangrila Leisure Farm. It is another up in hills, quite similar to the previous one.
Checked in and we both families visited the fruit ranch. it was ard 4pm plus going to 5pm. we plucked and tasted fruits like lime, oranges or mandarins (i'm not so sure), star fruits and dragon fruits. of course all of us kena bite by the mosquitoes. haha. den we proceed back to our rooms. by the time we went for have our dinner which ard 7pm, the whole sky had already darken. it's like 8pm S'pore time. it can be quite dangerous as the route is steep and dark.
After dinner, we proceed to our night activities. all started playing 陀螺. they started competing between Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore representatives, and the 陀螺 weigh 16kg! Proud to say that our Singapore representative won the 2nd (which come from our group as we are the one and only Singapore group). haha. As it is during the mooncake festival, Taiwan have a tradition of making 汤圆 and lighting 天灯. we really enjoying making our 汤圆, competing whose is the smallest, and thinking very hard of the wishes to write on the 天等. According to our tour guide, there's two items we cant write on the 天灯. one is ‘我要减肥’ and the other is ‘我要包二奶’. if we write dis two items, the 天灯 may not rise. haha. it iz true or fake one, i don noe. anyway we are the first 天灯 to be risen. beautiful!
4th day 21st sept
Left the leisure farm and we proceed to taipei(台北）. It's a rainy day. I really went to slp in the bus cos the journey is 2 hours. We reached a place called Shen Ken Tufo Street（深坑豆腐街）. As the street name suggests, the whole street sells tofu and it's smelly tofu! we tried one stall which is fragrant smelly tofu 香的臭豆腐. haha. it tastes quite not bad... but is just the smell tt we cant take it. Den we headed to Taipei 101（台北101). It's like another taka, shops are quite similar, very empty also. for your info, we need to pay in order to get to the top level which is onli 91 floor. So all of us were not interested and we started to take photographs here and there. Den lunch-ed at a restaurant and headed to Tamshui Old Street and Fisherman's Wharf （淡水老街&渔人码头）. Follow by Shilin Night Market( 士林夜市). ate their oyster omelette, differ from s'pore, but still taste ok lah. first time saw their MRT station, each station have differ and unique in their design. Den we proceed to our hotel near Xi Men Ding(西门町) and dis is the so call 4 star hotel. haha. For the whole day, everywhere in taipei was raining so was quite difficult to walk and shop ard.
5th day 22nd sept
For the day, we don need to carry our luggage as we'll be staying in the same hotel for two days. haha. After our breakfast, we visited National Palace Museum(故宫博物院), all the Chinese art treasures are kept there. den we went to a place sort of like talking bout feng shui. Lunch-ed at a restaurant called 蒙古烤肉 similar to Seoul garden. Follow by our last destination of the day, Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall(中正纪念堂), but when the moment we step out of the bus, it started to pour. all we can do was to quickly snap a few shots and hurry get back into the bus den headed back to our hotel. the rest of the time was our free time, so we headed to xi men ding for shopping. haha. Xi men ding is a big parade, every now and then, there's a junction. eventually we noe our route but end up we lost. we started to asked ard for direction and managed to find the route back. amazingly we shopped for 4 hours, from 3pm to 7pm. haha. and back to our hotel to do packing.
Last day 23rd sept
Woke up super early. 5am morning call. get prepared everything, left the hotel at 6am. by tt time the whole sky is already bright. had our breakfast on the way to 桃园 International Airport. our tour guide xiao luo sent up off and we boarded the plane at 9am. reached Singapore at ard 145pm. haha.
